There was nothing wrong with either of those situations; however, with summer approaching there is no better time than now to focus on our family - just the three of us. We live in an amazing outdoor-friendly town and I want to take advantage.
So, I declare this summer the Family Summer of Fun. The goal?
To reconnect.
To let Jackson experience new things.
To enjoy the sunshine.
To enjoy each other.
To have fun.
So, what am I missing? What is your favorite summer activity?

Sounds like a great plan to me. I'm planning on enjoying swimming, bbqs, taking walks to the park after sunset. I love summer.
ReplyDeleteTake a real vacation! Head south with sunscreen & a beach towel & make memories!
ReplyDeleteThe beach vacation is on the radar for sure!! I would love to take a long weekend and sit in the sand!
DeleteAre there any outdoor concerts in your area? When ours were little we loved going to those. You take a picnic supper and all the children ran and played and dance in an open area in front of the band while the parents sat nearby and chilled. (SITS)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look into that, thanks! I would be able to cross two things off the list - concert and picnic!
DeleteI crave time with just my boys. No kids to babysit, no friends to entertain (even though I love them, I love them so much!) and no family drama to waste time rolling my eyes at. I'm hoping this will be a great summer for us! I have lots planned around here - water parks, museums, the works! I hope your summer is great too!
ReplyDeleteSummer vacations in a nearby state. A three hour road trip and we are surrounded by family that are usually too busy to connect. Nothing better than seeing my kids have fun with their cousins and nothing puts things into perspective than uninterrupted time with my husband and kids.
ReplyDeleteI forgot...my favorite place to take the kids...THE ZOO!
ReplyDeleteOne thing we do often in the summer is go to farmer's markets. They are held weekly here, so we probably go every two or three weeks. We buy some fresh food, some veggies, some bread, a couple honey sticks, and something decadent like a chocolate croissant or some kettle corn. Then we spread out our picnic blanket and enjoy samples of everything we bought! It has quickly become one of our favorite summer traditions.
ReplyDeleteLove your goal of reconnection!
Love the idea of enjoying your purchases from the market picnic style!! Adding it to the list!
DeleteThat sounds like an absolutely perfect way to reconnect with your little family! I might just have to borrow that idea for my own ;) Summer is definitely a wonderful time of year!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! Perfect way to reconnect as a family. I hope this summer is wonderful for you!
